When Floor Space Just Isn’t Enough

Fortunately for Addison, the project managers at Metric had already solved their problem on several occasions in the past, so when it came time to design their new dealership they knew just who to call. This time the problem was that their parts department square footage was shrinking and they wouldn’t have enough floor space to meet their growing storage requirements.
The only options available (or so they thought) was to stock less, buy another warehouse or build an even bigger store. The first two “options” were, in reality, not even possibilities and the third would have been prohibitively expensive. Needless to say, there was a fourth option that hadn’t been considered – a Mezzanine system for tires, slow moving parts and bulky items like bumpers and windshields. This new mezzanine system almost doubled their square footage by adding an additional 1600 square feet, freeing up space downstairs for faster moving parts and fluids that needed to be accessed more frequently – all at a fraction of the cost of building a bigger store.
Naturally, the parts department is running a lot smoother now thanks to another creative solution by the team at Metric
